Booo! It’s already August! And that means I have one more month to cram all the summer I can into the next few weeks. I want to go to the beach 2 more times, the Getty one more time, Laurie’s for more poolside fun, and one trip to Hurricane Harbor. Doesn’t leave much time for much of anything else unfortunately.
School starts in September. Cat and I have been planning her 1st day of school outfit. She’s sooooo excited. Can’t wait to get started!
Last night I released her into the neighborhood for the first time. Granted I was hanging in the front yard reading. Our block is so freakin’ excellent cool. All kinds of kids in a close age range, all riding bikes scooters and skateboards up and down the sidewalks, just like when I was a kid. Within a few minutes of being out, she rode by in a motorized kid car with one boy driving her around and another on the hood of the car trying to get her attention.

Summer rocks.

Summer is grand. And tonight is going to be a highpoint. HP fans… you know what I’m talking about. We’re going to the 12:15 am show tonight/tomorrow am. Peg and I have our tickets and will be at the theater where we see all the HP midnight releases. Yay!!!
Yesterday it was was the beach all day. I gotta tell ya - Mondays at the beach rock. It’s quiet and peaceful. We get there so early and then leave after lunch/before rush hour and cruise back home.

There were even dolphins!!!! A whole bunch of dolphins! And a sea otter playing in the waves for a bit.
All in all a lovely day at the sea shore.

ahhh…. it’s finally really and truly summer. But this one is slipping away so quickly. September is just weeks away and Catherine starts school. We went to Chinatown last week for dim sum and parasol shopping. Up to my sister’s for some pool fun and good times. We visit Auntie Christina and go book shopping. I paint her nails her favorite colors and I’m learning how to french braid her hair. There’s just so much going on. It’s wonderful.

I know. It’s been waaay too quiet around here. It’s just this weekend wiped me out. Cat’s 5th birthday party although a success was exhausting (seriously… kill me). That’s what May was… celebrating Cat’s birthday all month long. And sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the school the night before kindergarten applications were due to guarantee Cat’s place… that was lovely. Especially the sprinklers going off at 5am. Just lovely.
Now I’m just tired and looking forward to heading down to Escondido for some pool side summer fun. Roll back the ozone and give me direct sunlight baby.

What I wear is determined by whether or not my legs are shaved and/or if I have the energy to shave them.
I may be in pants for a while.

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.

Apparently I didn’t have a milder version of what Catherine had. I am horribly sick. Went to the doctor yesterday after suffering all weekend and left with a script for über-antibiotics. Takeaway words: mini-tonsils and pus. I’m not going any further on the details. It’s grody.
I totally need soup. And either Warcraft or Little Big Planet. Or a cool action movie.
Speaking of action movies. I love Demolition Man. LOVE IT. Can’t get enough of it. If it’s on, I’m watching it. Enhance your calm, John Spartan.

I think I’m coming down with a milder version of what Cat had. Thank god I don’t have tonsils, cause then I think it’d be worse. But I’m feeling icky and want to get back into bed and rest.
The only consolation I have is that I look rockin’ cute today. Adorable retro heels and a black/red plaid pencil skirt.
Meh. I may feel terrible, but I look fabulous.
