chunder-boy

And I know that I’ll need to shorten this at one time with a link, cuz this is going to be a long one.

I decided to take Friday off because damnit, I really deserved it. And I needed to work on my homework. Ok. Had a lovely weekend relaxing, visiting friends, watching movies I wanted to catch up on. And I decide to end Sunday with a little DAOC. Glenn calls in the afternoon and is in El Paso, and he’s not feeling well - sick, like food poisoning. He calls back in an hour and is feeling worse. Then he calls back again and he’s vomiting blood. Thankfully a flight attendant/ex-nurse was flying with him that trip and took him to the emergency room next to El Paso airport. Glenn said that he would call me when he got there to let me know what was going on. But when he got there he was so dehydrated and out of it, that they got him on a potassium choloride drip and he fell asleep. His crew didn’t want to leave his flight bag unattended with him passed out, so they took it with him, WITH his wallet/picture ID in it. His overnite bag was in Denver, waiting for him to get back from El Paso and then come home. So when my sweetie finally comes to and calls me, he says that they’ve decided to keep him overnight. So I tell him I’m on my out there in the morning, unless he calls to tell me that they are discharging him. There’s nothing I can do, I’m so fucking worried that I go to sleep at 9:30 and I’m up at 3:30 (again) doze until 6:00 and call his room. He says that they’re going to keep him again one more night. I find a flight that leaves at 11:00 and I make it. Make all the arrangements I need to - mother-in-law informed, cat/dog taken care of, work called and explained, picking up printout from friend, packing for both of us. Switched planes in Vegas, made it to El Paso before 4:00 p.m. The hospital was less than 5 miles from the airport. Poor guy. He was all tore up. Broken blood vessels around his eyes from violent vomiting (projectile was the work he used), hand all puffy from the potassium chloride drip and they didn’t want him to eat anything up until dinner on Monday. I stayed until 10:00, got a room two blocks down and slept. Back at hospital before 8:00, he was having breakfast and feeling 1000% better, since he was freakin’ restless and desperately wanting to head for home. BUT - remember he didn’t have any photo ID. So we had to arrange with his work to fax a letter to present to the people at ticketing and have the people from the crew escort him back (thankfully Glenn knew everyone). Piece of cake. The doctor finally comes in at 9:20 - after constant asking first by me, then Glenn, then me, then Glenn one more time. They were soooo wanting to get rid of us. We’re outta there by 10:00. WOOHOO!!! Ride to the airport is good. No problem at Southwest or SkyWest. I take that back. Southwest was having a bit of a challenge today. The flight I was going to be on was really late. They ended up cancelling one leg of the trip and going straight to Vegas. I was going to be switched to another connecting flight out of Phoenix (the cancelled leg) and I would have 25 minutes to catch my flight. We run over to the gate, 5 minutes late and the plane is gone. BUT the guy said that we wouldn’t have been able to get a seat anyway, since the flight was full. So now I have to wait for another hour for another flight, but to make it up to us, we did get to preboard. *sigh*

So I made it home in time to hit rush hour traffic. I’m about to head to the store to get Glenn some juices and stuffies for hims tummy.

And everything is fine at work.
